I own a 07.5 CTD P/u model..... engine light is on, lost power, idles rough and valves knocking pretty loud, dealer can't fix the problems I've had for three years, they just keep cleaning emissions, CEL comes on once a week, the DPF was just replaced a week ago.... does anyone know what is causing no power, loud valve knocking ??? is the truck in low power mode ? computer says service needed, see dealer now... past computer warnings only said catalyst full... never seen the message being displayed at this time. any info would be appreciated before i go back to the idiots at the stealership. thanks

is it throwing any codes and is the lighting bolt on the dash come one cause if it does usually that means it in a limp mode or reduced power

 

Sounds like the EGR is toast in it. Does it barley idle? And does it smoke alot of white?

To: the other two who were kind enough to respond...... you guys are right on the money..... thanks........ Truck has been in the shop yet again! I have seen white smoke recently and I do beleive it is the the EGR..... my crystal ball tells me parts are going to be MIA next week. Just waiting to see what bullshit the stealership is going to try and feed me this time.... thanks again for the info
