Idle RPM
I have an 03 which does that when i first start it up, seems to corrispond to when the heater comes on and off for the air and probably fuel, and recharge the batteries after starting, once its on after a few minutes it evens out and stays pretty consistant
how cold is it where you are at these trucks have a automatic high idle in cold weather and will idle them selfs up when its cold i live in fairbanks alaska and during the winter my idle is never below 1000 rpm
the heater grid wont make the idle jump that much, maybe 20-30rpm
Waldo, take your rig to your local dodge dealer and ask them if they can enable the elevated idle in your truck
If you press the cruse on button the idle will kick up to 1000rpm, and if you press the acel button it will idle up to about 1400rpm to warm up even quicker

Yep, if the intake temp drops it will idle up to keep the cylinders warm and stop wet stacking. Built into the ECU.

Does this work on an 07? I tried this a couple of days ago and could not get to function.
