Default HEAD HELP!!

First off, Hi all!!

Now here's the problem. A buddy of mine has the 01 cummins with the head gasket leaking. It's leaking outside, not internal.

I opened my big mouth and offered to change it for him. The only problem is I've never worked on a diesel before, only gas. As a matter of fact I haven't even lifted the hood to look at it!

Here's my questions. Can it be done by an average mechanic and how long should I expect to take.
What are the steps,etc.

I really need help PLEASE!!!!!!

The best thing you could do is make your buddy buy a Haynes manual...
You're gonna need one if you've never done this before. It's pretty straight forward but there are definitely some differences between the gassers and the adult trucks ,
