ok guys i have read the forums that are sticky and done some other reseacher on pumps i have a 1688 code for about a week now no dead peadal truck cranks fine [i do have hot rod pump]just wondering if when get 1688 if pump just die or what?

ya just check engine light came on so pulled codes and there it was 1688

 

1688 is lacking comm between pump and ECM. Your elctronics could have gone bad on the pump, the ECM could be going out.. could be a few things but most of the time it not the pump that went bad, its the electronics.

 

i read a write up on here last night about that they was soldering the wires back on
