Default New Guy From Buffalo, NY

I just wanted to introduce myself to all of you. This site looks really great and I finally joined. As you can see in my sig, I don't have a diesel YET but that will change. My truck is a 1996 Ford F250 that I bought brand new with a Meyer ST-7.5 plow from the dealer. I now have a Husky series C-8 plow on it with the original E60 pump that I flush every year before plow season. The truck now has a king pin Dana 60 from an 1986 F350 and has a two add-a-leaf kit in the front that makes it ride way too stiff even with the blade on.

Long story short, I was planning on selling my beast nicknamed "OVERKILL" next year because I wanted to buy a used newer diesel truck. Recently, my wife spoke to me about our twelve year old son who told her, "Mom, can you talk to Dad for me because I don't think he'll listen to me. I don't want him to sell the Ford because it's the only truck I've known. I want to drive it. I love that truck." My wife also told me she loves the Ford and that we shouldn't sell it. I informed my wife that I didn't want to sell it either but that I just wanted a more fuel efficient diesel powered truck. So, that got my Cummins Swap juices flowing again and here we are. The Buffalo South Towns had just received three plus feet of heavy, wet snow and that truck performed flawlessly yet again.

So here I am again and more serious about getting all my research and info together so that my son and I can build a Cummins powered Ford truck named OVERKILL. I am counting on gaining a lot of insight and knowledge from you guys here. Thanks and hope to meet all of you.

Welcome good news is theres no lack of 12v and 24v motors floating around in your area on craigslist for about $1500. Theres a guy down your way with a black reg cab 95ish with a built cummins in it that is very impressive I know he deals with brothers diesel so if u get in a pinch during your swap you can try checking with those guys since there close by.

Thanks for all the welcoming words and encouragement. Sorry it took me so long to reply but I work midnights and have a lot of stuff going on. I look forward to having the time to look into this. Talk about karma...just had a guy I know call me about his old truck that his brother in law bought from him and now wrecked and wants to part out...a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 24v commonrail. Just wish I had cash now.
