My 01 did this on and off and all I had was a companion code. Then one day when I started it, I notice the lift pump did not sound right at all. I checked the codes and found the low voltage to lift pump code. Luckily, I still had the original pump mounted on the engine and replaced it with a FASS DDRP and have not had another problem. Pressure is 21 at idle and 18-19 WOT.

sorry it took so long for the reply! had to wait for her to do it again. it triped it again and i got the P0121 throttle position sensor code witch i am not quite sure how that would affect it. i looked around and it found that indicators are as follows:
Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination (Check Engine Light or Service Engine Soon light)
Intermittent stumble on acceleration or deceleration
Blows black smoke on acceleration
No start.

what mines doing is stumbling id say would this be somthing i can reprogram my TPS or will i have to get a new one? thanks for the help fellas

Replace it. I have also replaced this too. My CEL would come on then go off and I got the same code. I took it to the stealership 3 times and they said it tested good. The last time, I told them to just replace it and it took care of the problem.

dead petal is mainly 3 things, lift pump,tps,vp44,most likely its the tps or vp44,the lift pump usually come back to life by playing with the pedal.theres a place in houston texas that rebuilds tps sensors, ill get it for you if you wont it ,there bout 450 pluse your core.
