Default A couple 6.0 questions about Innovate tunes and EGR delete

Hey guys im looking into upgrading my tune setup. Im running an SCT Livewire with the canned tunes. I hear a lot of good stuff about the Innovative tunes I think Eric is the go to guy? I hear the aggressive tow is the way to go for big loads and he has a street tune for power and economy?

I currently make 395hp and 735ft.lbs. at the rears. I wanted to know if Eric's tunes will make more power than the "canned" "street" tune that I am running. Do they provide better fuel mileage as well?

Another question I have is about the EGR delete. Im looking at an RCD kit. Does EGR delete add any power or is it just a reliability aspect that is an issue? Would Eric's tunes have a provision to remove the CEL from an EGR delete? Last question on this issue, does the EGR delete kit come with the gaskets needed for pulling the top end of the motor apart or is that an added cost I should factor in?

I appreciate your guys opinions on this one. Ive done a great deal of reading on these topics but I know theres plenty of you guys out there who have run these tunes and kits and I would like some expert opinions on this! Thanks fellas!

Eric is the man, just tell him what you're doing with the truck and he will set you up. I suggest a towing tune for sure if you tow a lot, then street and extreme street.

Well every dyno is different, but it WILL be more power. Most trucks running extreme street/race put down around 420-430 and tq is anywhere from 750-790. Every truck and every dyno is different. The real difference will be the transmission behaviors. Generally speaking the higher horsepower programs offer the best mileage, I myself have never seen an increase, but I didn't lose any MPG either.

Another question I have is about the EGR delete. Im looking at an RCD kit. Does EGR delete add any power or is it just a reliability aspect that is an issue? I have the RCD kit myself. You could argue it would add power since you're putting all clean air into your intake instead of your exhaust, and you're now directing all exhaust at the turbo instead of some going into the EGR cooler and into the intake manifold. Spool up is supposed to be quicker, but it's more for a reliability/preventative mod. Comes with everything to delete the EGR cooler and the EGR valve. The intake manifold comes out (they claim you don't have to with this kit, but you basically do), the gaskest are supposed to be reusable from Ford, but I've seen some trucks with higher mileage where they were NOT reusable. You could always pick a set of them up, they're very inexpensive. (the truck I did it to was an 04 with 100k miles on it if that helps).

I appreciate your guys opinions on this one. Ive done a great deal of reading on these topics but I know theres plenty of you guys out there who have run these tunes and kits and I would like some expert opinions on this! Thanks fellas!

X2 on everything above except the removal of the intake manifold. I didn't remove mine to delete my EGR. Just loosened the bolts on the drivers side and removed the passenger side bolts and popped it up a little bit and slid the cooler out

Agreed, but you still break the seal of the intake manifold gasket, that's more what I was referring to. Once the seal is busted, if the gasket tears apart, a new one is inevitable and removal of the manifold is a must at that point.

Thanks for the reply guys! Any ballpark figure on what a tune runs from Eric? Or it based on what exactly you get?
