Default diesel in engine oil

i was told that when the injection pump is going out diesel will could get in your engine oil. Is there any other things that cause that? injectors or what? and it is popping and white smoke bad it sounds like a helicopter it pop so loud. the miss started in august and has just been getting worse

A bad injector will cause it as well. Doesn't atomize the fuel and it just drops into the cylinder and washes down the cylinder wall past the rings.

White smoke and popping is a good indicator of bad timing. On only one cylinder I would think bad injector. It is possible one plunger on the injection pump is scored or excessively worn.

Have you checked the timing on the injection pump to rule that out?

missing white smoke and poppin could be both. first i would pull your injectors and have them pop tested. if all goes well there then i would check timing. the diesel in ur oil is makin me think bad injectors too.

To me, its cheaper to check the timing first. Kit on fleabay is only 190, and can use it more than once. Just my $0.02.
