One of my freeze plug has come out (not sure why though) how much is a new one and shouldn't i tear down the motor to check if any other freeze plug has come out ?

 

the only time I have seen that happen, when you do not have the correct 50/50 antifreeze

if there is to much water, it can start to freeze and it will push on all the freeze plugs (hence the name freeze plug)

I would just buy another one and put it back in place, use some type of sealant when putting it in, I use locktite (red) when I do a build

 

so, i shouldn't be afraid of the block being cracked and such ?

 

if you start to loose fluid after you have fixed it, then yes you could have cracked the head or block , you may have also just messed up the head gasket. (if you have done any damage at all)

don't freak out just yet, just fix what is broken and go from there.if you cracked the block or head you will be able to see signs.

 

yep, the freeze plugs are actually supposed to help prevent those cracking hopefully you got lucky and yours did what it was supposed to do

 

any help with finding the correct freeze plug for the rear passenger side freeze plug. i found some from rock auto but they got all sorts. just wanna do an oem replacement, don't wanna do the bolt in or anything

 

I had one rust through so I replaced all of them buy them from Cummins they where only a couple bucks apiece and use some sort of sealant, I used loc-tite black RTV and working great

 

what is the best method of pulling them out, as i have one on the old 92 that is starting to rust.
