Default Block Heater Cord

Hey y'all, I'm lookin to get a block heater cord for my 05 .. and Ford wants $150 for the damn thing.

International wants $120 for it.

Is there any place to go to avoid this ridiculous price?

I tried NAPA, who said they couldn't do anything for me unless I knew what type of heater element it was. I didn't know what to tell him other than the year/model/engine, can anyone shed some light on what type of element is in there?

Ebay is your friend. International should be no where near that price. The international cord is not as nice as the Ford cord. The Ford one is a VERY nice piece, with that said, I got the one on ebay myself.

Do yourself a favor before spending the money, crawl under the truck and MAKE SURE you don't have one, sometimes they come with them, but they're tied off way back behind the bumper out of site. Look at the block heater and make sure nothing is plugged into it. (probably not one there, but it's nice to check), then order one.

Here you go, $20 buy it now. This is even nicer than the one I bought, mine didn't have the 90 deg bend on the end of the cable.

I'm gonna second Mdub with the check real good comment. Mine was zip tied out of sight on the passenger side of the bumper. Also, it was hunting season so when i did find it, it was buried under and inch or two of mud. Literally went to the high pressure bay to free it.

I just found a friends zip tied on the frame rail directly above the front axle. So look all over the pass side not just in the bumper area. Check above the starter and see if theres anything hooked to the block heater.
