My 2005 truck does a few things that I would like to fix/change. If anybody can help me with them or point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it!

1) My intermit wipers have a mind of their own. Low and High work great...

2) Everytime you turn on the heater fan, it automatically turns the A/C on. If you shut the truck off with the fan on, when you restart it the A/C will be on. This is driving me nuts!

3) Automatic door locks. When I go over 15mph, the doors lock. This wouldn't be an issue if ALL of the doors unlocked when any door gets opened. Is there a way to turn that feature off?

First off for the wiper and a/c issue check the ingnition switch for burning or melting.
For the doors. The way its suppose to work after they lock. When the truck is in park and the DRIVERS door is opened first all doors should unlock.

 

Hmmm.... Didn't think about the ignition switch. I will take a peek at that. As for the door locks, I figured they were working as designed. I just want to know how to disable it!

 

You can have a Dodge Stealership do it, they did mine. Even with the Laramie edition that mine is, the overhead doesn't let you access every menu that's changeable. The wife's Grand Cherokee will, the Dodge won't.

 

Any other ideas with this stupid A/C? It makes me want to punch a puppy...

 

Hey, is the A/C supposed to automatically come on with the defrost? I noticed the other day that there was air blowing out of my defrost vents when I had the selector for the floor only. I wonder if the truck thinks that the defrost is on and that's why the A/C turns on whenever I turn on the blower fan.
