just got my first 1990 dodge w350 reg. cab cummins, 4x4,5spd. best truck ive had so far. only problem is the heater core went bad and i have to replace it. Any hints or detailed instructions on how to accoplish this. first time doing this so need any kind of info

I had mine out this time last year as my A/C evaporator was plugged and I had poor air flow. I should have changed the heater core at that time, especially when they are around $55. I now have to do this dirty deed as well, when I get my truck back. A little different process in the 2nd gen truck, the entire dash has to come out.

 

How do you know its bad?Is it leaking? If its just poor heat, cut the plastic off the box inside the truck and clean all the crap out that collects over the years...

 

mine took me about 5 hours, mostly cuz of frustration . but its deffinetly worth it to have the heat.
