Make sure you have plenty of beer before you tear into it. Have fun, take your time and try not to get too frustrated.

Its not bad. Just make sure to lube the o-ring on the new oil cooler before you put it into the housing. Hate to rip a seal and have to do it all over again.
Get a new screen for under the cooler also. 9 times out of 10 they're bad.

Before you take your fuel lines loose from the fuel filter housing put a zip tie around the lines so you don't have to chase the nuts on reinstall.

Rickey,

Hey, how did the oil cooler replacement & EGR delete turn out. I'm kind of curious as I probably am going to do the same thing sometime this winter. Currently I am seeing 15 degree spreads unloaded running 70-75mph. I'll see 20 degree spreads a good portion of the time pulling the camper. The biggest thing I am noticing is that it is taking a lot longer for the oil to cool down, so I figure it is getting close to oil cooler time.

Just thought I would check in and see how it went for you and if you have any insight for someone else while everything was still fresh in your mind.

it took about 15 hours over 4 days. not any major problems just the drivers sideup pipe were a pain to get tightened up. no room for a wrench on the top . if you dont take the cab off you dont have much room to work on the back side of the motor. get some good blankets and lay them on the radiator and fan shroud. 3 days later my chest is still sore from laying on it for so long. all in all not too bad of a job. take your time and put all your bolts and small parts in baggies so you know where they go back. if you need any specific answers feel free to ask and i will try to help out any way i can.

Topside Creeper FTW! I would make sure you use quality 6pt sockets on the turbo bolts. They will be a nightmare if you round one off.
