i am having trouble pulling the codes on my truck. i know the scanner i have is good because it works on my car but it wont come on when i plug it to the truck. any sugguestions for getting it to work would be great.

i figured it out bad fuse in cig/obd port

 

The OBD port runs off the same fuse as the cigarette lighter. Check that. 9/10 times that's all it is.
