Seems like there are a bunch of these on here lately so ill keep this one short. I have noticed recently that if i stop on any kind of a grade when i take off ill get a shudder and yesterday when it did it im almost sure i felt a slip from first to second. It calls for a tranny service and band adjustment at 100k im at 98k think this may be the issue? Iv heard alot of different things about the bands and dont know what to believe the tranny shop i called told me that they are so thin now days that if i need to adjust them that i may as well replace them?. any truth to that? please help not sure what to do and cant afford a complete rebuild rite now. I do have a bullydog but i keep it on the tow setting it is set to stock now fluid is a little dark and burnt smelling. any help in appreciated!!!

 

First off change the fluid! Drop the pan and look for debris and metal. The bands have always been thin that's all that's needed. If they are out of adjustment they will wear fast! Without the proper tools "Inch pound torque wrench and torq bit and 18 or 19mm wrench" Do you have a valvebody and TQ? I hope so!!

 

pulled the pan and changed the fluid and filter no metal on the magnet or in the pan there was a thick milky substance im guess band material built up aaround the magnet not very much just enough to wipe off. put it bacl together and have prob put 100 miles on it and it felt ok guessin mabey the filter was a little stopped up and the fluid was thin making for poor line pressure. gonna leave it turned down until i save enough cash to have it built rite. any suggestions on what all to have down would like to keep the build around 3000
