Default dodge limited slip

so i found out that chev 00+ and dodge 03+ run the same 11.50 aam rear axle. my question is why do the dodge limited slips seem to work so well and most all chevy limted slips dont work very well? did dodge use a helical gear limited slip and chevy used the disk type? i am going to find a dodge axle and swap the carrier if thats the case. also has anyone had problems with there dodge limited slips?

I highly doubt Dodge diffs are helical like the True Tracs. More than likely clutch type. Mines been holding up pretty well, but I will be going to a True Trac in the near future. I have a True Trac on my Lightning and love it.

the dodge uses a helical type diff called a "trac rite" where brand x (gm) uses the tried and trashed gov-lock version. hope this helps.
