Default gauges wont work & gearing issues my first cummins in need of some help.?

I just bought my 99 dodge 2WD 5 speed.. It used to be a gas truck and a body shop built it for towing, They put a 97 cummins motor and tranny in it it has 150hp injectors and new turbo (32lbs.) but for some reason with the stock 5 lug rear end it just seems to be really low geared ??? Any advice for me without swapping to a diesel rear end? And the rmp gauge and the odometer doesn't work the previous owner said that the shop he took it to said something about the pcm/ ecm?? other then that it seems to run great with no probs....

your kinda screwed there because the diesel rear ends are 8 lug you can do it but you will have 5 on the front and 8 on the back

but it can me done
find another rear and roll it under there

or just change your gear ratios

lik i told ya in chat, a stock half ton axle wont hold up to the torque of the diesel engine. as far as the tach and speedo not working, thats something we cant help with with out knowing the truck, and seeing how the shop that did the swap made them work, or if they ever did work.

hope ya get it figured out
