Default exhaust

This week I found my Cat on my 2005 F350 Diesel coming apart at the seams. My exhaust system is not looking good. So I am thinking about a cat delete pipe and just put enough pipe for a small muffler (FOR THE WIFE) and have it end before the rear wheel. Has anyone put together a system like this? I do not like the exhaust the everyone orders in a box. I like custom.

Usually the ones that end before the rear wheel look cheesy IMO, and you will end up cleaning that wheel a lot if you have a programmer or get one. My buddy used to have a 5" that dumped there... He had to wash his truck every other day.

You can get the cat delete and the muffler delete for just a hair over $100 from some places as well. It will be quiet enough inside the truck that your wife would never notice, UNLESS you stomp on the skinny pedal, then it gets loud. It's still pretty quiet in the cab though. Very easy to keep quiet when you need to, but also plenty of rasp when you want it.

Thanks for your help. Did you get the recall on your Spiders power steering? Spider looks good!

Why not put a pipe through your cat so it still visually has a cat?

I have to weld the seam and keep it for inspection. If the insides are messed up I will weld a pipe in it and use that for my inspections. I need to be able to drive it to work and fix it get home and then decide keep the cat off or on.

I took the cat and you can see a screen and when you put a light up to it you can see the light through the converter the size of a quarter. My cat pipe was easy to install and you can hear anything different. The turbo works faster no lag at all. I pulled my trailer and I did use less fuel. I almost got 12 mpg pulling my 5th wheel!!! Before I got almost 11MPG.

I pulled my 34' 5th wheel and what an improvement. I can get over how fast the turbo spools up. I do not know about MPG I keep feeling my new power.
