i have an 07 dodge 5.9 with the auto. it has 102000 on it and shifted great till this morning. All i did was straight pipe it and now it doesnt want to shift out of first unless i let off the pedal and wait for it to shift. there is no slipage. it just doesnt want to shift out of first.

Sounds like your governor is sticking. Common problem.

 

Also check your front band adjustment.

I took mine to a Dodge mechanic buddy of mine to adjust my bands and install this GM governor that I got off ebay. Its more reliable than our factory one.

Do a search on here for band adjustment. Only thing you may not have is a inch pound torque wrench.
