Default 13:1 Compression Ratio VP44

Ok i built a pulling motor for my 2001 dodge. It was P-pumped but i've bought a new pulling truck and am building a new motor for it. So my question is if I put a VP44 back on my old pulling motor will it work with my 13:1 Compression pistions i have in it? Any help would be great thanks!

Yes i understand that thats why i p-pump it in the first place but I am putting the truck back on the street and want to use the motor i have. Besides i think it would be neat to see how far you can push a VP44 pump

A new vp44 can be pushed.I have a 02 with phatshaft racing twins with 250 hp injectors DDP.13.5 compression and it was very road mannerly no surging.Of course when I p-pumped it BIGG difference. It will work fine with the 13 to 1 .

You have a big single or compounds on it?

IMO!!!
Compression is something that needs to be determined prior to boost expectations. Want 150psi boost? LOWER the compression. 13:1 will start hard, be lazy until boost and fuel requirements are met. I don't think 13:1 will be a streetable truck, not on bottom end at least, but will really pick up when it is hot and fueled. Diesels utilize the heat of compression to ignite the fuel, less compression is less heat. In the glory of -40 in Alberta, a 13:1 compression truck is a lawn ornament. Give it heat, and thats a different story.
