check ur compression because my 89 7.3l idi its compression is 21.5:1 i pretty sure urs is the same so watch out if u but a big turbo on it cus it will make the compression high which is harder on the engine. i found a turbo in the junkyard off a 94 that im going to put on my truck but that engine with the turbo has the same compression rate as mine.

ATS, Hypermax and banks are all pretty much the same. The factory turbo's were ATS exhuast housing with Garrett intake housings. You can run these motors up to 18 psi with no hurt but need studs. My dads is the factory turbo mine is the old school none wasgated Banks. They both do about the same. I think Hypermax is a lil cheaper than ATS by 300 bucks or more

My son had a 6.9 Ford before he got his Dodge Cummins. He put a Hypermax on it and was very happy with the results, (not cheap though)

I'm not seeing it on their site but since they have a 3.5" exhaust system as a related/recommended part, I would guess probably 3". I supposed it could be 3.5 and it just hooks right up with the pipe kit but I've never heard of or seen a 3.5" DP. Doesn't mean it don't exist though.
