Default broke and broke down

hey guys, and gals, i have a 05 dodge cummins with a 48re behind it(which happens not to pull so good at the moment) and i have a 2000 budget.......any suggestions for a build that will be better than the obviously not so strong stock build?

it seems that this transmission is not real popular as a stock unit because Everybody in the universe offers something to make it better

**** kit, TC, a couple billet internal pieces and its rock solid. Biggest thing now is how bad the front clutches are hurt. With your budget you should be able to pull them and have them rebuilt. Couple other things that will help a lot for cooling and you should be very happy.
