for minimal gains i would say to just slide your stock fuel plate along with the afc housing full forward. then you can adjust the starwheel and smoke screw, and flip the afc washers!

you cannot say that without defining the word "a little". "A little" means 1/16" of an inch. When your moving the plate a LITTLE is a LOT.

is not the wisest idea to do anything to your truck withought a pyro especialy messing with the fuel heat is created from fuel so if ya thing adding a bit more fuel wont do any damage you are greatly mistaken my budy in my diesel class had a 97 12v and slid his plate a slight mount and towed 3 sled up our pass total weight about 3k lbs and melted his motor down cause he didnt have a pyro

You can put a BHAF and a bigger exhaust on safely without a pyro and that will help you some

for sure - but adding extra fuel (as in sliding the fuel plate) just increases your exhaust temperature which can lead to melted piston(s)
