Default Curious about Dodge

My dad is looking at an 01 cab and chassis 6 speed with 135k on it. Me not being a dodge guy I was curious if there were any common problems with this year truck. The guy that has it said the engine was rebuilt once not sure what exactly was done to it. Any help would be appreciated.

Wow, a rebuild before 135k! That's not heard of too often.

Problem area number 1, the lift pump. If you want to keep the life of the injection pump alive, invest in a good lift pump. Not a CarQuest replacement or anything, a FASS, or AirDog type. Minimum pressure to the VP44 is 10PSI at WOT. More is better, but don't exceed 25 PSI. With that being said, if the truck is purchased the first investment should be at least a fuel pressure light or gauge.

Besides that, they are put together quite well.

He drove it yesterday evening he said everything ran perfect. The lift pump has been replaced with an upgraded one not sure which and has a light on it. It does have the typical front end problems I've read about on here.

Not sure what they meant by rebuilt but yeah that sounds a little strange to me also. It's a private seller and the guy before him had it rebuilt. The clutch was redone less than 500 miles ago.

As far as the block goes not sure.

He offered 10 for it and the guy said no but its not going anywhere fast so he is waiting to see if the guy calls him back.
