Default 6.9I smoking

My wife was following me the other day and said that there was constant smoke coming out of the exhaust. She stated at idle and cruising speeds it was white and when I would accelerate, it would turn a little black, but it there was always some sort of smoke coming out. It's not bad enough that I can see it through my mirrors while driving, but she saw it while following me. The motor is in a 86 F250. I'm actually getting ready to pull the engine to put in my other truck, but was wondering what it could be, or if it is normal for these motors. I'm planning on repairing some of the oil leaks while the motor is out. And if need be I can perform other repairs while its out, as long as it's not too expensive. I cannot afford a full rebuild at this time. Thanks for your help.

There are about 163000 on the truck. As far as I'm aware, the IP and injectors are origanal. The air filter was just replaced.

i would say the injectors are shot. ip possibly is going out also. both these parts normally only last 100000 miles or so. maybe a little longer. get some good brand(delphi) injectors BB coded.

ip pump see if it can be rebuilt locally. try and find a diesel pump shop.

do not get anything from pesocola diesel.

When the injectors get older they can cause the timing to change as well since the springs are weaker and will pop at different times than when they were new. Your timing could be off or you could have an injector leaking fuel.

it is a valve on the back of the intake that does almost the same thing as a pcv on a gasser.
