Default What's normal temperture?

Whenever I drive up a hill, slow or highway speed my temperature starts to climb. It normally runs around 170 degrees on flats but when I start going up in goes up to 190 and if I'm going slow it goes over 200 degrees. What is normal for your truck?

I believe the thermostat is 190 if I remember. I dont think you have anything to worry about untill you get to 220 or hotter.

thermostats are at 180* climbing a gvrade in 65-80* weather i stay anywhere from 180-190. but in our 100* heat with the ac on full blast climbing long steep hills i can see about 210-125 or so

I've only had the truck about 5 months. I did change the coolant but I wasn't sure what the normal temp should be. If it goes over 200 degrees while climbing up a hill that's still ok it sounds like.

Thanks for your input everybody. I've read up on it and see that its pretty common to have temp go up and down because of the big radiator. It just worries me when its up over 200 degrees for awhile. I was wondering if the thermostat or the fan clutch were going bad.
