hello to all my cummins lost fuel pressure so i checked overflow valve and spring was broke in it and ive tried all parts stores around where i live and dodge places and they cant get me one i was wonderin if i could get another spring and put in it i have to be back at work monday and this is my only welding truck.thanks

 

you can "rig" it. get a Bic clickey pen. take it apart and cut down that spring a bit, a good bit and it'll work temporarily untiil you can get a proper replacement.

do i need one thats the same big around as in spring size

 

just get the cheap pen that most people give away, most are black and white or blue and white, you have to perty much put the spring into a coil bind, so when cutting it make it bigger than you know it will ned to be and then trip it down until you can reassemble the valve. it'll hold enough that way. if you cut it too short then the fuel will just flow right past it.
