Default Injection pump dying?

Ok for the about the past 6000 miles ive had a problem. My truck has intermittent low power, low rough idle when hot and when you coast in gear, when you give it throttle again sometimes it will jerk real hard and have tons of power for about 5-10 sec. In the past 500 miles i have replaced the lift pump and filter, fuel heater delete and fixed the wire on the shutdown sol. After doing some searching i'm thinking my ip is dying but i need some expert opinions. Thanks.

I wouldn't say that it's dying, but it does sound like it may be requiring some surgery soon...

It idles smooth as glass the first start of the day but once its warm it sounds like a miss and puffs out black smoke with the a/c on.

add some clear tubing on the fuel line and see if your getting air bubbles into it

Well I added some clear line to see if i had any leaks and I also checked the fuel pick up and it all looked good. If it is the pump how many more miles will it go before it calls it quits?

pull the shutdown solenoid and check it.

what kind of boost numbers do you have? could be some form of intermitent boost leak/dying turbo...

could still be a fuel pressure issue?

the excessive black smoke leads me to believe its getting enough fuel, but not enough air.

I pulled the plunger out of the solenoid and went for a drive and it made no difference. It still makes 21 psi of boost at wot and about 2-5 cruising and the egt's don't get over 950f empty. The truck still makes some black smoke but exessive like when I first got it. It kinda feels like im constantly dragging something except for the times when it gets its short busts of power.

UPDATE: Now after coasting in gear, when I push the clutch in it dies but will start back up and the idle is all over the place. I"m thinking maybe its something to do with the governor but i"m not sure

Did you ever get the issue fixed, and if so, what was the cause?
