Default 2005 Dodge 48RE

Hey everyone Ive got a 2005 dodge 3500 4X4 48RE with around 140,000 miles and I am having really bad vibration when Ive got the cruise control set and im coming off a hill or even driving around town and i let off of the gas petal. Once I hit 70 mph and higher it starts vibrating. I assumed it was U joints but all appear to be fine. I replaced a U joint in my front drive shaft and found that the centrifical joint, the little needle bearing in between your front two U joints was completely trashed. So I still have the front dirve shaft off, since the dodge dealership told me im going to have to buy a whole new front drive shaft. Any ideas where the vibration could be coming from? tranny, rearend, drive line? Thanks, Colt

I would guess rear driveshaft because of it vibrating when you let off on the throttle...

i got to thinking about it and all of my problems started when i removed my front drive shaft to replace u-joints and reinstalled the front driveline. is the front drive shaft balanced as well? could this hopefully be my problem?

Yes! The front shaft needs to be balanced and in phase. (If it's a 2 piece shaft.)

Make sure you mark it and keep rotating 90 degrees. If after three strikes it doesn't get any better you have a bent drivershaft. Replacement time.
