I just put a new tranny in my truck and i thought that the truck would be way faster since the other converter was slippin but this thing is gut less. my buddy has the same set up as me with smaller injector and different lift pump and that thing is so fast. Can anyone tell me whats goin on and when i put it to the fllor on the freeway in downshifts so my rpms are raelly high

the converter is an off brand but its a billet triple disk. and its a low stall. my fuel pressure is 20-22 at an idle and with the edge on 5 at WOT it drops to 6 sometimes 5 but with the edge on 1 it goes to 10-11 and my boost is 40 with the edge on 5

10 PSI is the lower limit for fuel pressure. VP44's need a lot of fuel to cool, lubricate, and fill the cylinders in the head of the Injection pump. How is the boost and smoke situation when you drop the hammer?

from a stop the boost is around 35 when i hammer it and it smokes really good then clears up nice but when im drivin on the freeway and i drop the hammer it just barely gives a haze of smoke and it drops to what feels like 2nd gear cause my rpms are really high and my buddys truck doesnt do that it shifts down and pulls mine shifts down and holds but doesnt really go anywhere

adjust the tv cable it's too tight. this should help with the down shift. what was done to the trans? beware of off brand tripple disc converters they may be all f'd up. Been there done that. Cut mine apart in feb they used a turbo 400 bowl, the spacing was wrong, the stator rubbed on the pump and the stall was way high. it still ran 12.38 that way, but i have picked up almost 3 mpg with the converter being set proper and my temps do not go above 180.
