vp44 idle rpm question?
I know of 4 other vp trucks and they all idle slower than mine, what could this be?
ECM differance, pump, throttle position sensor?
The truck runs fine it just idles a 100 rpm fast or so.
Is there anything I can do to change idle rpm on the vp44? Injectors, tubes, lines?

All controlled by the computer. Is it actually revving higher, or just showing it on the tach? There is a possibility that it is just reading higher. You'd need a pulse tach to confirm actual engine rpm.
I think it sounds like you mat need to adjust apps sensor. It is not hard if you think it may be the problem there are some really good directions on hear and maybe someone will post again here for you
I just checked it for codes and there wasnt any, I thought that was a little odd, it always used to have a few.

I just drove it and rechecked for codes I get a 1762, ive never seen that one before, my stuff says its a governor pressure fault to low or to high, transmission.
The other one I get is the 1693, I almost always have that code come up.

P1693 (M) DTC Detected in Companion Module A fault has been generated in the companion engine
control module.
P1693 (M) DTC Detected in PCM/ECM or DTC
Detected in ECM
A 9Companion DTC9 was set in both the ECM and PCM(This code is telling you that there is something wrong)
P1762 (M) Gov Press Sen Offset Volts Too Lo
or High
The Governor Pressure Sensor input is greater than a
calibration limit or is less than a calibration limit for 3
consecutive park/neutral calibrations.
P1762 (M) Governor Press Sen Offset Volts Too
Low or High
Sensor input greater or less than calibration for 3
consecutive Neutral/Park occurrences (4-speed auto.
trans. only).
Is your truck starting out in second gear? This sensor is in the transmission and is on the valve body.http://www.electricaladvantage.net/ It is the second sensor on the top.

Well it just started this yesterday.
Codes 1757 and 1762, along with sticking in low gear, not related at all to my idle rpm, stupid truck.
Looks like I'm pulling the tranny pan.
