Default 06 warranty about to go bye bye

so heres the situation ive got just over 700 miles till my warranty is gone so i am wondering what all i need to try to address while the truck is under warranty and what all i need to do once it is out of warranty to make the truck the best that it can be. a list of what needs to be done and its importance would be great

i know the egr 100% has to go once its out of warranty is there anything else.

on a side note i dont have the money to spring for an sct yet so when i do my egr delete i found a guy that will program out the code but my question is when i put my superchip on the truck (or change the level on it) will that remove the code he wrote making the check engine light come back

any help will be amazing

thanks jeremy

I didn't know there was a way to get rid of the code without a custom tuned SCT. You can always try getting headstuds put in, but from what I have seen and experienced, the only good way to do it is yourself unless you are good friends with a tech and he will let you take the heads off to get machined.

You should be good though.

Try selling the superchip on ebay or craigslist. I've bought a few SCT X-cal2's for under $200 for some buddies on the forums. Then one custom tune is only $25-$60 depending on who you get it from.

I know those tunes exist, some of the EGR delete companies will give you a tune for free that is stock power and trans settings, but with the EGR code deleted, but you need the SCT programmer to load it up. That's what I dont understand. How are you going to get the tune into your truck without the SCT?

You can't. That's my point. If there is some other way, I've never seen or heard of it, so please post back with your findings!

Hard to say, stock trucks blow head gaksets and others run extreme race tunes daily with no issues....?

A street tune is probably what you're looking for. Not too many guys using elite tunes though.

If you're getting the SCT you can get it from anywhere and it will have the EGR code removed already.
