ok guys. when i bought my truck i knew it had some kind of chip but not sure what one. i finally contacted the old owner and he said its a hypertech...but he still has it and wants 200 bucks for it. now i'm not real fond of hypertech, i'm wantin to go either edge or bullydog maybe maybe quadzilla. can i just take my truck to dodge and have them flash it back to stock when i put my new chip in?

 

A Dodge dealership should be able to flash it back to the latest factory software. I did that to mine to get high idle and 3cyl idle enabled.

 

I had to do the same thing mine had a stuperchip in it. when I got hot unlock for my juice it didn't work. reflash and all is well

 

You will need to get the dealer to flash to clear all Hypertech info in the vehicle before loading another brand or you will have the "stacked" effect.
If it makes you feel any better, the programmer he tried to charge you extra for is no good to him either since he did not return the vehicle to stock.
(The only thing left in it is the "stock" file for your vehicle)

alright thanks for the input guys that makes me feel a lil better... and no offense hypertech.. i like what you have but i want something like the edge where i can control various stages

I think you should call him up and tell him this info about his hypertech is no good unless he flashes the truck back to stock and charge him 50 bucks.Tell him it is vin locked.

 

Hey, that's some good thinking! His module is pretty much useless unless he can get that software out of your ECM. $50 seems fair.
