randomly getting some white smoke from the engine. was told the smoke is coming from the breather tube that terminates around the front axle.

any suggestions on where i should start?

 

Hope it's not coming from the breather tube! How does your oil look also check the inside of the filler cap. White,milky water?? Now from the exhuast would mean unburnt fuel and or a fuel leak somewhere letting air into the system. More info please!

 

Not to judge, but guessing by your mods, a bad injector.

 

the truck was in the shop most of last week having the oil pan gasket, rocker gasket, and one other replaced. wouldn't a mechanic notice this milk in the oil pan or when they removed the rocker?

the truck is going back into the shop today. anything i should have them focus on?

can a bad injector be diagnosed with a pressure test?
i know there are flow test but not many shops have the equipment.

 

Ahh Knowledge is power! I love it when a truck goes in for a simple oil leak and comes out with a OMG WTF!!! Glad I'm a mechanic! Sorry but can't guess on this one! Please keep us posted this is an interesting situation!

 

well, no milk under oil fill cap, and the mechanic said he would have noticed it when he replaced the gaskets.

best way to check the injectors?

Yeah they are my take outs! They have 100k on them except one is new! Bosch is about to release the parts for a total rebuild! Call the guy above he'll fill you in on what rebuildable means!
