I have a 03 ford SD. 6.0l . Went into the store came out and try to start, it just turned over. I shot ether into the intake and it fired off. Ran above ide but as soon as I let it idle or drop pressure at the injector it died. I monitored the injector pressures as soon as it drops below 500 it dies. I have changed to oil, the fuel pump runs a while to pump up. I dont think its that because once I get it to start it will run for a couple of min . or 3. ---------help

 

Clogged fuel filter or maybe HPOP, high pressure oil pump?

 

no more ether.. your going to either blow your hand off.. or blow teh heads off the motor if the glow plugs are on.. not good.. need to scan an see what codes come up..

 

ICP code, I used a analyizer and the demand pressure is at 654 and the supply is at 524, can it still be the high pressure oil pump if I have pressure. Someone said that if I had a leak in the high pressure pump i wouldnt have that kind of pressure (524) ---looking at the IPR

 

Just a update on the problem of not starting. It was the injector pressure regulator. Replaced both the sensor and regulator just because they are a pain to get to. Thanks for the information guys
