I have a 2004 Ford F250 and it was blowing white smoke and I took it to the Ford dealer and they want 1,900.00 to fix it and I don't have it !! They said my EGR Cooler is bad with out getting out of there seat. I removed the EGR Vlave and it wasn't very dirty and a little carbon on the inside and some green stuff inside the Boost tube. What would be the cheapest way to fix the problem? Delet Kit or EGR Cooler replacement ?

Do all the work yourself. Replace the EGR cooler or get a delete kit are both good choices.

 

Just get an EGR cooler delete kit. You can get them for $300 now or less, and you can do it yourself. It is not a hard job at all, but it is somewhat time consuming. Plan at least a full day for your first time. An extra set of hands will come in handy too.

 

i just put in a sinister full delete kit < got off ebay 275 shipped.

 

I have a 2004 4x4 6.0 power stroke and need to put the DELETE KIT on will it hurt if its a daily driver? I know it says for off road use only but there is nobody to check to see if I have the delete kit on it. I need to do this myself and this looks like the best way to go can anybody help me?

It will help, not hurt. Every 6.0 should have this done IMO. I've heard you can get the Sinister or the RCD one's on ebay with the "make an offer" for around $250. Have at it!

 

U likely have a bad oil cooler so while ur there fix the problem. It is more than likely what caused the egr cooler to fail. I would consider getting a coolant filter to help with longivity of the oil cooler. Its costly but headgaskets and studs will definately give you piece of mind and is not to much further in there.

 

Yes, do an oil cooler rebuild while you're in there.
