Default Upgraded 40hp nozzles? any good?

I was cruising thru the internet and came across some nozzles that fit stock injectors that are worth like 40hp? They only cost like 90$ or 80$ and was wondering if they are a good idea? How about as far as smoke/egt/mileage?

Matt

IMO I would just buy a new set there not that expensive. Call chris @ SDX for a great injector.

How much do some stage I's or II's from sdx go for? Are they good on fuel, smoke and egts?

I mean, 40hp for 80$? That sounds like a steal to me!

if there just tips, u will still need to have them sent off to be poped tested if u swap the tips yourself. that will cost ya at least another 100. and just cause there cheap, dont mean u will be saving money. u could get them put in, and crack a nozzel from them being so cheaply made. jmo though. no matter what, you will get what you want. good luck with it

Is it easy to crack a nozzle?
There is no way around the pop testing (aka skipping it Lol)

if your worried about MPGs, smoke, and would like a good power increase yes you should pop test them.

also what is the spray angle on these 40hp nozzles?

5.9 5.9L Dodge 40 HP Diesel Fuel Injector Nozzles 12V : eBay Motors (item 230352992129 end time Mar-27-10 14:36:37 PDT)

Read it and weap!! hehe. Dont know though.

What would pop testing them do? Is that a way to tune it or just a way to make sure they are within certain specs?

pop testing will tell you what press the injector opens. if it is set to low the injector will open very soon and could hurt the injector. I have a set of 5x.016 set of vco injectors, I sent them to SDX and found that 2 of them were set to pop to low and caused some wear on the pintle. Thankfully chris informed me of this and fixed the issue for me.

Mine are set at 280bar
