Default Just Installed #10 Plate. What A Waste...

What a waste....of perfectly good tires and fuel. I was very impressed with how how much power I gained. What concerned my was how high my boost and EGT's got. Prior to the install, i maxed out at around 18-20 PSI boost and 1100-1200 degrees pre-turbo. Now I am reaching 26-28 PSI Boost and peg 1400-1500 Degrees.

How much of each is too much.

I set the plate 1/16 back from full forward and slid the AFC full forward. Is this a reaonable set up.

I have a NV4500 with a GV splitter. 1st and 2nd are still unimpressive with little to no smoke. 3rd-4th-5th smoke moderately and pull very hard.

3K GSK are to be installed tomorrow.

you'll prolly want to move it back to the stock position once you get the 3GSK in place..... it'll get HOT quick......

hang on a sec is this on a 215 truck? if not them numbers seem kinda off, if you got the stock wastegate setup without a boost elbow you might be on, do you have an intake and exhaust if so them egts seem kinda high unless its a 215 pump. i have to work to hit 1200-1300, your egts are pretty warm, if you dont have an intake and exhaust get that and also get a adjustable boost elbow that will increace your boost a little and reduce your egts due to more air, with my wastegate unhooked i could hit 40 pounds like nothin but thats way way too much, thats too much on the turbo and on the headgasket so i put a boost elbow on to control it

Yeah I was gonna say, I get up to 1200* empty up hill wide open and I got 370's in my truck and an 8 plate in about the same spot you have. The boost numbers sound a little low, check your turbo for the vacuum line going to it and yank it off of there, and stick a bolt in the end. That will help until you pick up a boost elbow. Its doing no good

I can hardly even peg mine with a trailer out back.

i did get a boost elbow with the fuel plate. I haven't adjusted the allen head at the back at all though. Should I???

I just a few minutes ago finished installing a MBRP 4" exhaust. I haven't test driven it yet to see if it made a difference in EGT's, at the moment I'm just to filthy to get in the truck.

I have the Low output pump, i think its a 180HP, because Its a California edition with all the smog junk on it. I think the restrictive cat added to the EGT's

What would a normal boost be at with this set up. I thought 26-28 psi was high

i would set it for like 32 or there abouts maybe even 35, but those egts seem really high for a 180 truck, the exhaust should help some, also get an intake

yeah an intake will greatly help you out. or even just a quality BHAF with a heatshield will do wonders and carry you up to about 400 hp.
