Default Another Tranny Question

Today I was towing a trailer with an old truck a buddy just bought and estimated that the trailer grossed maybe 8000 lbs and thats prolly kinda high. But it felt like I was giving the truck alot of throttle and it felt like the truck just couldn't get going. It seemed to stay in second gear for a while and the eng temp jumped up to 205 - 210 area. I don't have gauges so don't know what the pyro was or trans temp but never got the light. Just recently did a transmission flush and replaced the filter. Any ideas would help and haven't done anything yet to fix the problem. Thanks everyone!

Truck is a 2005 quad cab auto 48re bone stock, under the hood is bone stock as well. Leaning towards throttle actuator valve or governor pressure solenoid cause it has started doing the 1 2 shift hunt in the past 500 miles or so, but those are almost guesses based on what other people on the forum have experienced.

Ok now for the real question is this something that i need to address ASAP as in not driving the truck or can i milk it out for a couple of weeks. Only reason I say this is I leave for 2 months in 3 weeks. But at the sametime don't want to burn out my tranny either. Thanks for the help so far.

Okay hotcummins now i need a little help from ya. A buddy of mine mentioned a transgo shift kit, replacing the governor pressure solenoid and replacing the trans filter again. Is there anything that I am missing that you would replace or check while i got it all torn apart.

transgo kit is great and while you are in there readjust your bands that will cover it

Right transgo kit is being ordered today, would you recommend replacing the governor pressure solenoid as I've read a few places that will fix the 1 -2 shift hunt and would you do anything with the throttle valve actuator thanks for all the help

I am also thinking of going the trans-go route. My 2005 has 72k on it... Anything else I should replace while I'm in there other than the TC? I'm planning on running an intake, exhaust, Smarty and Quad Boost Fooler. TIA!
