rattling and low power till i back of throttle?
Sorry this may be a stupid question but this diesel stuff is still new to me, I have some new parts coming next week, gauges, full exhaust and intakes...along with a 100 plate from Mr Whit (what a decent guy!) but before these things go in I want to ensure there are no problems I should deal with first.
When driving the truck (stock) I notice that to increase speed I actually have to back off the throttle otherwise is holds at about 22-2300 and rattles like pre-ignition when I back off it gets quieter and seems to have more power.
Any help?
thanks guys!!!!!

Sorry truck is an auto, since I have those performance parts coming next week should I install them then take it in and get timing set? I don't have the tools to check the timing out myself.
Sounds like its starving for fuel on the top end. If the fuel filter change don't fix it then you need to have the timing checked. Then have it set at 15*.
I wonder if someone in the past didn't turn the rack press down, attempting to get better mileage

Deffinelty replace fuel filter first and then timing then let us know. How do you turn the rack pressure down? I am unfimilliar with this.
