Ok so i just put a suncoast tranny in with a BD torque converter. when i get on it the truck starts shuttering and revs for awhile till it seems like it hooks then it goes but not that good it always seems like it is trying to catch. so i'm wondering if that is the torque converter going bad or something else??

Sun toast is crap! Hope you don't have to ask for help!
Recheck the fluid level.

Call suntoast and ask them for a local authorized dealer! DO NOT DRIVE IT ANYMORE!!
Be prepared to pay anyway they do not stand behind their products!

I will attest to Suncoast standing behind their product, however, you have a Suncoast transmission without a suncoast converter. Expect issues there.

As for your issue, I would say that line pressure is low and feed pressure to the clutches is below what is needed to keep them biting. Thats my first thought. My other is that I have no experience with the BD converter, so, I can't really say there.

Either way, something is not right.

ok went with your not enough line pressure and did a fluid change to see if maybe that had something to do with it. dropped the pan and there was lots of metal shavings in there. unless that is normal from a tranny that is getting broke in i would say that is bad. but with the new fluid and i put the lucas oil tans fix in it made it a little bit better but not good.

Oh man Metal in the pan is BAD! Like I said ask Sun toast for a authorized repair close to you so they can open it up and report back to them. Then they will send out a new tranny which you will have to pay for AGAIN and then you will have to pay for labor and maybe in 6 months you'll get your money back if they don't say it was your fault!
Good Luck and keep everyone posted on how they treat you!!
