Default Questions...

I have a few questions about my 1998.5 24v turbodiesel. I have owned the truck for 3 years. My truck has the infamous 53 series block which is cracked about 5". I repaired the block by using the lock-n-stitch kit. It went fantastic and doesn't leak anymore...I have added a , tst powermax, 300hp ISB 24v marine injectors, 4" exhaust, EGT Boost Fuel Pressure gauges, big head wastegate, ats pulse flow manifold, gauges, fass ddrp, South Bend Clutch, Carter lift pump, and an intake. I have just purchased a smarty and plan on using the smarty and tst in a stack. I am aware I cannot use two timing boxes stacked. MY question is will the two stack correctly? Will my 40 PSI boost from my hx-35 handle that amount of fuel? Will my EGTs be too high?

Any feedback is appreciated!

Thanks

Ian White

You should be able to stack the smarty and the tst because the smarty has the options of adding timing only or fuel only or timing and fuel, however being as your only running a FASS ddrp i think your gonna starve the vp pump.

I ran the tst and smarty stack for quite a while and loved it. I liked it even more than the drag comp smarty stack. As far as your turbo goes you will be able to drive and use your truck just fine but not to it's full potential without having egt issues. It's going to get hot pretty fast under full throttle. I would be looking for a turbo upgrade in the future Enjoy the the tst smarty stack

The tst is a fuel only box so a smarty would be a good stack. Hx35 handles 40psi just fine. But like stated not sure if that fass ddrp will keep up. You need to get a fuel pressure guage.

after 35psi it's just hot air and reducing the life trust me I know 3 people that were running 40-45psi and lost them this year.

Update: The truck has a full set of gauges (EGT, boost, Fuel pressure) the truck also has a south bend clutch and has a DDRP with the high pressure spring installed as well as a carter lift pump. The injectors are Bosch 300HP 24v ISB injectors, so they are close to the same as the rv 275's.

. I am looking for good power, but still good mileage. I frequently drive across Washington state and need good mpg's. I really don't want to upgrade the turbocharger, but may be forced to. I would be going with a twin setup fabricated by myself. I've read about hx-35 and s400's in conjunction. Is this a viable option?

Info on Injectors:

his is off from dieselstore.com, where they were purchased from. They are 300HP injectors.

* This is a set of 6 NEW Bosch 300 HP injectors Bosch part number 0432193635
* These are Marine Injectors specifically made for the Cummins 5.9L 24 valve ISB engine
* These are brand NEW not rebuilt or used
* These come with a ONE year unlimited mile Warranty!
* These are set to give you up to 40 MORE HP!

so are they bosh 300 or bosh rv275's? The rv275's add the up to 40hp and the 300's add up to 65 so the statement above makes you wonder. I would work on keeping your boost under 40psi. I wouldn't add any more fuel to the mix with the hx35. I am not sure how it will handle a twins setup I just know don't bark it very often. I really like my s300 and you can find them for a good price now and then.
