Default Stock boost?

Hey guys,

I have a 91.5 with an auto.

I just installed my boost gauge this evening and took it for a test drive.

I'm seeing:

Almost no boost until I get into second gear.

Second gear tops out ~14-15 psi

Third gear gets up to almost 20 psi....but I have to be floored for that.

I turned my pump up about 1/2 turn (left the collar on), did 90 degrees on the star wheel and turned the pin 90 degrees.

Does that sound normal? For some reason I was expecting ~25...I don't know why that is though...just kind of what I thought.

Any feedback on stock boost levels? I'm not sure on the housing, but since it's early intercooled I want to say it's the large housing (dog).

Anyway, thanks!

damon

Sooo....everything on my 'semi-baseline' looks like expected for a stock truck with 155k on the clock and a 3 inch exhaust?

The no boost in 1st is kinda odd... Make sure you dont have any kinks at all in teh boost line, even a spot that was kinked and then bent back is a problem.

Roger that...will do. That plastic line is terrible to work with...especially when it's below freezing out.

For a factory intercooled truck, that is higher than normal. Even a Non I/C truck stock shouldn't see that much boost.

With the 21cm housing, and the mods you have done, your boost numbers seem fine.

Alright, thanks!

Actually, after driving to work this AM I will see 5 or so psi in 1st. Just not very much...of course, it isn't in 1st very long, either.
