hey i got an issapro fuel pressure gauge as a early xmas present from my girl. i was wondering wheres the best place to tap into to run a line to my gauge. and whats good numbers for my 12 valve to have with the stock lift pump. thanks and merry christmas.

 

Take the banjo bolt out from teh P-7100 inlet. Drill it with a size R bit and tap with a 1/8" npt tap, get the appropriate fittings and a needle valve. Run the needle valve barely cracked - this is to dampen the pressure spikes from the injector pump and save your guage. Installation should look like this:

 

Agree Dr Evil, Except once you tap into your bolt use use an 1/8 npt to (I think 4AN??) and tie into an autometer Isolater. This prevents the gauage spikes, and keeps all your fuel under the hood, not in your cab. I have one and its a little touchy getting hooked up but take your time and read the instructions, and it will work great. I mounted mine on the steering column in a nice little pod. The last place you want fuel if you get in an accident is in your cab dripping on you, especially if it catchs fire.

The little brass thing w/ the stainless tube is the isolator.

 

I used a 24V truck tapped banjo bolt and that fits right into the top of my FF housing on the outlet line. I used that for a long time until I put the FASS on. with a stock LP and OFV you should see 17-20psi at idle and up to 30psi when the R's come up.

what exactly is an "r bit." im at a loss for that one. and where do i find the autometer thing? thanks guys........i just look the di pricol fuel pressure gauge kit comes with this isolater, will this work the same as the brass auto meter one?

 

An R bit is 0.3390 inches. This is the proper drill size for a 1/8" NPT tap. But, you could probably get away with using an 11/32" bit (0.3438), it's the closest fractional equivalent and found in most standard drill bit sets.
