Stupid battery.
I wanted to know if anybody have the same problem i got going on. Anybody have were your batteries sit in your engine compartment, right outside on the fenders, paint/clearcoat peeling off. Im sorry if i didnt make since. my fenders on the past two trucks have been acid coated by the batteries venting. Is it just cheap batteries or do the need to be mounted different? They sit in the factory spots and factory brackets. It makes the truck look like a POS. Any suggestions how to fix?
thanks, Kyle

Ive heard that you can get Red Tops at Sams club for $130 each - that isnt bad at all, and they are well worth that $$.
The size you want are Group 34/78. Its also really nice to have the extra side terminals to hook up accessories.

Are those acid batteries? If so, they will very likely do the same thing.
I'll do a little searching and find out...

Yes they are acid batteries... So I don't know if they help you with your search anymore, but I stand by the fact that I haven't had that problem on mine...

Sears is now selling Diehard Platnium AGMs that are the same as the Odysey agms I have a pair in my truck. My old one ruined my fenders as well. They have the longest warranty of all of the agms and are Deep Cycle/ Starting batteries.
