Default Hx or Hy turbo

Sorry guys, I need some help. I have a Holset turbo and i want to adjust my wastegate for more boost. Ive been reading places on how to do it and its simple but still want my truck to start after Ive adjusted it(read of people having problems). My wastegate has the adjustable back with the eyelit that goes on the wastegate, and on the front it has a solid 90 degree elbow going into the turbo. The elbow is on the actuator not on the turbo. The actuator plugs into the turbo. It goes to the turbo not from the turbo. Can i adjust it by just unbolting the actuator on the front and turning it clockwise? or do i need to take the whole thing off and adust the threaded part with the eyelit? Thank you for any help!

You would need to buy a J-Hook because they HY turbo isnt adjustable.

So you know, HX on the manuals, HY on the autos (faster spool up but less CFM).

^^^ yep

hx35 on all manuals, and 98.5-00 autos. hy35 on 01-02 autos.

the hy's have a 9cm housing so they spool faster. the hx35's have a 12cm housing and will flow more volume of air.

How much more of a difference can the J-hook make in psi build up?

Well you don't want to exceed about 32 PSI for HY and no more than 35 PSI for HX...

I know a bunch of you have gone well past this...
