Default I think I need to replace the lift pump

Well after we switched over to ULSD my lift pump started to leak. Just a little bit at first, but now it's getting to the point where I have a 3" round dot of diesel on the ground when I park.

Since I have a brand new driveway and diesel kills asphalt, I think I'm going to have to change it out. I'm going to pull it off and RTV the crap out of it first, but I'm not sure if that will last.

I hate to because it's the STOCK pump at 200,600 miles. Yes, the STOCK, 11 year old Carter pump.

I have it mounted near the tank though.

The truck makes 525hp and I still don't go under 5psi of fuel pressure with this pump!

If I can't get it to stop leaking, I'm going to replace it with a new Carter pump I have on hand.

I would suggest relocating it to the frame and getting a big line kit at least. Ultimately you're going to have to have a better LP with that kind of hp unless a VP44 is in the budget.

Yup did that several years ago, made my own "kit" though, I don't think there was a such thing as a kit when I did it even.

Even better, here is the video and attached is the sheet..

Ok I was off, it's 522hp, but close enough. And yes, I did LOOSE over 50hp with the Smarty!

Run 1 was no tuner, run 2 was TST box and 3 was TST and Smarty.
