i know on the fuel system there is a little screw. im pretty sure its right after the injector pump or on it. i did this a long time ago so i dont remember too well. take the screw out and clean it, and then clean the hole its in. i cant remember what exactly it does but i had this exact problem and that cured it. sorry i couldnt give you more.

try to replace your fuel filter mybuddy had the same problem the fuel filter was really dirty. when he was waiting for the wait to start light to turn off the filter was being filled with fuel then when the engine started it would use the fuel in the filter then die out. so i would try replacing the fuel filter

well the filter is new and what not. i checked it. the truck will run if i hold the air bleeder valve on the fuel filter. it seem like it is sucking air in somewhere before the pump

Remove the filler cap on the tank. I bet your tank vents are plugged and the tank is being sucked in.

these tanks are known to break off the pickup tube around1/4 tank. so gauge will say 1/4 tank left, but it is sucking air.
