I started pushing the limit with mine with just a edge ez pulling a heavy trailer. So I would say about 60-65 hp more than stock. They are made to handle what the motor will throw at them without mods to the motor.

Jazz is correct, 60-65 is about the limit on a factory transmission. Inexpensive upgrades (compared to a complete transmission) are available to increase the ability of your transmission to deal with added power. I will mention that a valve body and torque converter will not deal with issues like burnt clutch packs and the steels. When the transmission is rebuilt using aftermarket componets there are more clutch's used which also increases holding power. If your looking to do some upgrades, Give me a call 828-266-9077. I'll be glad to talk your options over with you. We'll also discuss what your trucks used for and how we can custom tailor a setup just for you! We would love to show you the advantages to using L&N performance.

The problem is, He wants no negative effects and no problems. You might as well figure your frying your transmission a little more every mile. Secondly, Without a converter you wont be able to put the power to the ground or dyno so I would guess without a converter your probably 350 RWHP range on the rollers! Hope this helps! You would have to have a charger to break the 400 Mark safely as well!

Are you pulling any load. Trailer? I still think your over pushing the limit. Just be careful. It would be pretty easy to burn it up

But thats all the HP i'm gonna throw at it until i get the tranny done this winter T/C input shaft VB etc, these 47RE aren't as weak as we think i had a diesel tranny shop tell me that anything over 450hp it will start to slip but with any tranny its a hit&miss. I got 149k on it now.

mine was toasted by a superchip after 40k bought the truck used from my dad he had it 6 months pulled tranny had date and miles on it from a shop that did it. Now it's got the good stuff in it and holding 570. A stock tranny doesn't like power it can "hold on" for a while, but if you start driving it hard and using the power it's going to puke out it's guts.
