Default DURAMAX IDLE PROBLEM

I have a 01 Duramax and it idles up and down about 50 RPMs. So I put some good fuel treatment in it and it still does it but not as bad but it still idles like that somedays. Somedays are worst then others. I farm and work on diesels all the time but I havnt came across this problem before. Could it be the fuel pressure regulator?

Repair history and code's will be helpful. There's some TSB's out regarding this situation and some folks have personal experience with it. But it's key to help diagnose that we know all the codes, History / hard codes / soft codes and any repair history available to you. Also a big help is a list of mods currently on your truck!

> There is no codes on the truck and there is no service history. I bought the truck 3 years ago with a 129000 miles on it. And it now has 171000 miles on it and it runs prefect, it gets good fuel mileage, and she has been will taking care of since I bought it. The truck is all stock but 4" stright piped exhaust and a cold air intake that I put on when I bought it.

my truck is a 6 speed so it dont try to jump forward at a stop but i have heard other people with auto. say they will surge at idle and jump forward at a stop but it will jerk and jump sometimes when idling in first gear or reverse moving. Do you know were i can order on at, cause I dont want to take it to a shop, so if I can find one I can change it myself. Thank you for your help.
